vintage finds of the week - mod dresses December 11, 2008
looking for something fresh for your vintage wardrobe? there’s nothing quite like acquiring something old to make a hipster girl feel new.
here are some freshly-listed vintage mod dresses from ebay. enjoy and happy bidding!
the first, from cloudnine vintage, is a charming and delightful little lightweight soft pink lace and satin vintage 60’s mini party dress. back metal zipper with a bow at the back of the neck that’s got long “tails” trailing down. sweet as can be, you’ll be smitten with this sassy addition to your vintage wardrobe! (can’t you just see patty boyd in this one? i won’t be able to get wonderful tonight out of my head the rest of the day…)
next is a “vintage inspired” (so not actually old, but the mod look is definitely dead-on) cute baroque-patterned dress from honey & gold vintage. off the shoulder, with straps, mid-thigh hem, approximately a size large. fantastic fabric! love the dropped waist!
and if neither of those dresses seemed right for you, i dare you to resist this totally mod, black velvet mini dress (size extra small) with an empire waist and a tent-style back. beatnik audrey or skinny twiggy…this dress rocks! square boatneck, with sexy uplifting “u” shaped empire & darted bust seams. plunging square back with rhinestone buttons & pleated vents that tent-out. (you may be bidding against me on this one…)
