from first lady Michelle Obama to an animated spy disguised as an insurance agent… how’s that for continuity in blogging?
but honestly, a posting about this fabulous pink-haired secret agent who poses as a mild-mannered insurance agent is long overdue. created by kristen brewe, the director of brand and public relations for esurance, and designed by artist phil robinson, the idea behind erin esurance was “to juxtapose a widely disliked business, insurance, with a popular superhero archetype.” (wikipedia.com) and erin works hard. if you think living your life as a spy while disguised as an auto-insurance agent is tough, she also appeared in over 30 commercials in her first three years. i suppose a spy never sleeps.
honestly though, isn’t she just amazing? look at that catsuit, that perfect hair and make-up, that fabulous grin as she brings that high-fashion boot into contact with the face of one of her enemies. who wouldn’t want to be erin?
but there’s more. in researching this post, i discovered that erin has aligned herself with the indie band cloud cult. on a section of the esurance website devoted entirely to “erin’s world,” i found this:
