Hip Music - Oasis covering Cum on Feel The Noize May 29, 2009

happy birthday to noel gallagher of oasis.

he’s 42 today, which is completely mind-bending to me. here’s an awesome video of the band playing live, covering “cum on feel the noize” - originally a glam rock song released by Slade in 1973 and revived in 1983 by heavy metal band Quiet Riot, who also covered Slade’s “Mama Weer All Crazee Now”.

so enjoy. even if you aren’t a fan of the song or the band, this vid is worth watching for noel’s custom painted union jack guitar. it’s an Epiphone Sheraton. (did you just hear a thud? that was my husband falling out of his chair when he realized i’d thought to include details about the guitar. live with a guitarist long enough, you begin to know what’s important to them…)

Hip Hair (???) - Rob Pattinson May 28, 2009

why the question marks in the title of this post? well, i guess i’m not sure how i feel about rob pattinson’s hair. “hit or miss” might be the best way to describe it. sometimes i get it, other times… not so much. but who am i to question?

i’m the first to admit that rob pattinson need not lose sleep over what i think of his ‘do.

it certainly feels as if half the world is in love with him, and the other half is, well, heterosexual males. as for me, the jury may still be out on rob pattinson, but edward cullen??? who wouldn’t love the most romantic vampire that ever, um… lived?

she’s Bella from twilight. but that’s not all she is.

she’s a beautiful and natural actress who has gorgeous locks! if you take the time to check her filmography on imdb.com, you’ll most-likely realize you’ve seen her before, probably in Panic Room with jody foster. she’s been blond, brunette, auburn - but always captivating. no wonder edward can’t resist bella — inside she’s really kristen stewart.

above, kristen’s versatile hair in nine diverse looks. and if these weren’t enough, apparently she’ll soon be playing the lead in a biopic about joan jett. can’t wait to see her ‘do for that one!

twilight vintage - bella’s bowling shirt May 20, 2009

Twilight… i guess you either get it, or you don’t.

i personally hadn’t given it half a thought, since i was under the impression that only teenagers would appreciate it. i was wrong. i rented the movie a week ago and i think i have now watched it about 459 times, give or take a few. yes, it’s corny. yes, it’s campy. but in this case, corny + campy = COMPELLING. it’s like a horrible bloody wreck along the side of the road. i just can’t tear my eyes away…

among its charms, you have to consider bella’s awesome wardrobe. and how can you not love a teenage girl who wears a vintage bowling shirt to the first day at her new school? great choice, bells.
